Zwillinger Wulkan is thrilled to announce that Peter S. Kozinets, has joined the firm as a partner, effective January 21, 2025. With an exceptional legal career spanning nearly three decades, Peter brings unparalleled expertise in appellate advocacy, commercial and criminal litigation, media and constitutional law, intellectual property litigation, and civil rights matters.
Prior to joining Zwillinger Wulkan, Peter served as Senior Litigation Counsel at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona, where he handled high-profile appeals in the Ninth Circuit, advised, trained, and mentored Assistant U.S. Attorneys, and earned recognition for outstanding oral advocacy. Throughout his distinguished career, Peter has argued over 18 appeals, drafted more than 50 appellate briefs, and played pivotal roles in landmark trials and appeals involving misuse of the internet, money laundering, and child exploitation. Peter also served in the Appellate and Civil Divisions of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where he handled matters involving violent crime committed on Indian lands, terrorism, white collar crime, health care, and catastrophic injuries.
Peter’s extensive experience includes his tenure at Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he represented news organizations, journalists, and publishers in First Amendment, libel and defamation, public records, and other media law cases, as well as intellectual property and commercial litigation. His impressive academic credentials include graduating cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was an Ames Moot Court Finalist, and magna cum laude from Harvard College. Peter served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Roslyn O. Silver in the District of Arizona.
