Dana Martin is Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House), born for Táchii’nii (Red Running into the Water), and his maternal grandfather is Tábąąhí (Water’s Edge), and his paternal grandfather is Tó Dích’íi’nii (Bitter Water). Dana is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation where he grew up in Sheep Springs, New Mexico.
Dana is a dedicated legal assistant who is results-oriented with demonstrated success in providing legal support to attorneys and clients. Proficient in following all appropriate tribal, state and federal court rules when filing pleadings with the appropriate court correctly and in a timely manner. He has achievements in being helpful, patient, knowledgeable, and following incredibly detailed and convoluted instructions with ease and without complaint. Excellent initiative and can-do attitude to identify and resolve issues to maximize productivity.
Dana has been working in the legal field since 2010, first starting out as an Office Assistant in a foreclosure law firm in Albuquerque, NM where he was promoted to a file clerk, then as a legal secretary within 2 years.
Experience
Since 2014 Dana has been employed with the Navajo Nation Department of Justice as a legal secretary with the Human Services & Government unit before transferring to the Litigation Unit. Dana has been working with the Litigation Unit for a total of 9 years assisting with tribal law, tribal employment grievances, and tribal sovereign immunity cases, as well as Indian law in federal courts.
